Carson's 7th Birthday

We had Carson's birthday party a few days before we moved...call me crazy right?! except I would do it again in a heart beat. nothing except the kitchen table and some boxes were in the house so it was fun zone at our house for a bunch of boys. Carson had wanted a Lego party so that's what we did and seriously the EASIEST party EVER! if you have a kid who loves Lego's I highly recommend it.

I had Carson test out one of the games to see if it would work.
Carson drew, cut out and wrote his own invites
Started the party with some free time bulding while everyone showed up. aren't they all cute!
then the boys were challenged with making a bridge out of Lego's that could hold up an egg...
Luke starting his....
 Payton's completed and it worked!
Next, the boys each had ten pieces of Lego's on a plate and a straw, the goal was to get the pieces off the plate by using the straw and no hands....
Then we headed to the basement for building and racing cars..
loved having an empty room for this :)
 racing their cars

 Owen and Carson
 Luke and Carson
the Lego cake...sadly it fell in the fridge overnight I had to piece it together, but the boys didn't seem to mind :) Carson designed it. it was a giant Lego man that was attacking a Lego kingdom, he put picked out the colors, the shapes and put everything...my favorite part was when the giants hand fell off so Carson takes a mini-figure holding a sword and stabs the hand on the sword and says, "Perfect!".
 Matthew and Carson
Carson said it was the best party ever and that next year he wants to do the same thing... works for me!  Happy (late) Birthday Buddy!

finally!!

So I was uploading my pictures from my camera a while back when my camera died and somewhere in the move I misplaced my camera charger, that was, until yesterday!  wahoo. so you'll have to fogive the next few posts that will be some major catch up from that past few months. oops! better late then never right!

here are a few pictures from moving day.
Walking to school - Sep. 15th

Best buds and neighbors Carsona and Brennan, we sure miss having our buddies next door.
Carson and best friend Zac! These two were called each others names all the time.
Carson and Matthew, Carson just received a letter from Matthew the other day. Couldn't have come at a better time.
Audrey and some of her friends, Lucy, Alma and Presley.

Taken right before we walked home to get into the car and drive away....yes, some tears were shed.
...in fact, a lot of tears.....
 More than I could handle......
..So being a great mom, I fixed our problem with the best thing I had in a cooler next to me....
yum!!  (check out her puffy red eyes.)

. problem solved.

GG's birthday

My grandma's birthday is the day before Halloween and this year it fell on a Sunday so after church all relatives living close by came to my grandma's to help celebrate her 77th birthday. We all LOVE going to grandmas, the adults talk for hours, the cousins mingle and the great-grandkids all run around like crazy kids having fun (GG gives them free rain of toys, house, you name it. she's says kids are kids and just to let them be. )
I count myself really lucky to have lived so close to most of my extended family where it seemed at least once a month we were at grandma's house for something. some of my best friends are my cousins  and some of my best memories are with them, I love them to death.
anyway, as we were all saying our goodbyes grandma said, "wait, I never got a picture today!"  I nabbed my bestie-cousin and snapped a quick one.

Happy Birthday Grandma!!
... a few things I learned from my Grandma...
all the words (and hand motions) to C.C. oh playmate
Mares eat Oats (except I never actually new the real words until just a few months ago. :))
Best way to wash a dog
How to sew a dress
How to make a wedding cake (we made mine together)
The proper way to take care of roses
How to make her famous cinnamon rolls (even in a bad oven)
How to take a great picture and submit it and win a ribbon at the fair (so cool!)
How to be a great mom, person and best friend.
Love You Grandma!

5 weeks later.....

So I've been a total loser lately and haven't updated anything. oops!  I just sent myself over 100 pictures from my phone to my email so I can add some recent happenings tomorrow and I have yet to find my camera cord from the move..so as soon as I find that or borrow one I'll get caught up. :)

In the mean time, we invited some friends to join us for an afternoon at the zoo a few weeks back it was "Zoo Boo" day which means the kids get to dress up in their costumes and the zoo has a bunch of activities set up all over.

Here are a few pictures my friend emailed me. (see, kinda sad when I have to rely on other people to document our happenings.)

..to any of my Liberty Laker buddies...I'll take you to the zoo with us if you come visit...promise!

even Trent got in on the kid fun!

this pumpkin was filled with meat....and whip cream, apparently the tigers LOVE whip cream, but really....who doesn't. :)

all moved in

Before we moved, Jordan and her bestie, Sydney
Audrey getting off her kindergarten bus :)
on my way to a Relief Society activity, it was a beautiful sunset!
Jordan and Sydney again, waiting for their siblings at the bus stop
nothing says girl time like applying makeup
(Bonnie, she asks for Sydney everyday)
Trent and I went to the temple a few days before we drove out. great night. It's been nice having the temple 13 minutes from our front door.
Carson and I on top of Dead mans' Island
 on the boat :)
(it's taken a good week and a half and Jordan is finally leaving my side...at last for a little bit at a time. )

Jordan swimming in the sound. (and it was pretty chilly..grandpa didn't even go swimming)
the kids were playing "ferry man" and you had to pay money...(rocks) for Carson to take you from the beach to the boat
no fear Audrey. swimming back and forth...and it even started sprinkling and she kept going

 Isn't it beautiful!!
We are officially all moved in to my parents, kids are starting to get settled in school and church. This weekend was a fun packed weekend with Carson's best friend's baptism and then going out with the parents on their boat to Dead Man's Island.  Grandma's birthday and a visit from GG. I've seen and run into a lot of old friends and meet a lot of new ones already.

The one advantage/disadvantage of moving somewhere where a lot of people already know you is that there is no hidding in the corners. I was already given two callings and Trent and I have already subbed in Primary and Sunday School and have been recruted for choir, and are participating in the wards Broadway review this Friday (Trent is singing Hurcules' 'Go the Distance'...I can't wait to hear it.)

We've already had some colds go through the house, but thankfully they have all passed fairly quickly :)
so theres a little update-more to come!
